Seun Joshua Oduyemi is the founder and CEO of Multicent.
Joshua Oduyemi (born Seun Joshua Oduyemi on May 14, 1983, in Lagos, Nigeria) is a Nigerian-American venture capitalist, investor, a businessman and biotech executive. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the private equity and venture capital industry in Silicon Valley. Oduyemi is the founder of Multicent, a financial technology (fintech) company, and the co-founder of SheaTrust Capital, a California-based private equity firm that invests in early- and growth-stage fintech and enterprise software–enabled technology companies, established in partnership with Brian Benchmark. He is also the founder of AbbeGen, an early-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative therapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases.
Oduyemi currently serves as the General Partner and Group CEO of Sheatrust Capital, which operates across North America, Europe, and Africa.
As a General Partner at Sheatrust Capital, a leading Silicon Valley private equity firm, Joshua leads and oversees a team managing over $16 billion in Assets Under Management (AUM) across 250 portfolio companies. He specializes in financing software, data, technology-enabled startups, and healthcare/biotech ventures.
Prior to Sheatrust Capital, Joshua was a partner at Sequoia Capital, where he invested in early-stage and growth companies. He has also served as a consultant and executive advisor at Credit Suisse, Sr director- at Medtronic, Philips Healthcare, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Parexel, and Pulte Homes Group, building extensive experience in technology and investment banking. Additionally, he has held leadership roles as AVP at Schlumberger and Halliburton, and worked as a business analyst at FCMB, GTB, and Platinum Bank Nigeria. (Now Bank PHB)
At Sheatrust Capital, Joshua plays a critical role in facilitating mergers and acquisitions for major technology companies such as Apple, Exxon, Schlumberger, and Microsoft.
